Come Home The Kids Miss You is the sophomore studio album from American rapper Jack Harlow, released on May 6, 2022, and coming two years after his successful debut album Thats What They All Say.
After a very quiet 2021, in which he only released the single “SUVs (Black on Black)”, in collaboration with Pooh Shiesty, and was featured on Lil Nas X’s smash hit, “INDUSTRY BABY”, on February 4, 2022, Harlow made an Instagram post announcing that he was in the process of creating a new album, with the caption:
Next chapter starts now
Two weeks later, he announced his official return with the lead single from the album, “Nail Tech”, released on February 18, 2022. The single was praised by several celebrities, including Kanye West, who called Harlow “one of the top 5 rappers right now” in a now-removed Instagram post.
During an interview with Apple Music on February 18, the same day “Nail Tech” was released, Jack provided more details about the creative process of CHTKMY:
I think everybody will understand once I give them this new work. I feel like I haven’t had a chance to lay on the world just how passionate and how studious I am, and just how capable I am. […] And I think when I finish this album, it’ll be time for some of that. I think it’ll be refreshing for me to get into some of that. But right now, I’m in total work mode, man.
Locked in the studio finishing up this album for you. How ‘bout this one next?
The following day, Harlow went to Instagram and officially announced the release date of the song, which features a particular sample of Fergie’s January 2007 hit “Glamorous”. He revealed the album’s cover art on Twitter on April 6, 2022, and released “First Class” two days later.
