Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person concerts are mostly on hold. Genius aims to help fill that void with Genius Live, an experiential platform with a live and fully interactive concert. The latest installment is set to be headlined by Atlanta singer-songwriter Mariah the Scientist on Thursday, Jan. 28 at 9 PM ET.

Not only will fans be able to watch Mariah’s performance and connect with each other on chat, they can also make special purchases in real-time that will shape the concert experience. Fans will be able to get a shoutout, participate in a meet and greet, and even buy special merch.

Hosted by Genius’s Jacques Morel, Genius Live will be available to stream for free on the Genius Live platform, with concert simulcasts set to take place on YouTube and Instagram.

Mariah will also be playing an unreleased song thanks to fans who helped her surpass a collective goal of $2,500.

Mariah the Scientist is an Atlanta native who first started recording during her freshman year of college. She cites artists like OutKast, Frank Ocean, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey as inspirations on her songwriting and performance. She’s signed to RCA Records and Tory Lanez’s One Umbrella, where she released her first project, Master, in 2019. That same year, she also appeared on Trippie Redd’s Gold-certified A Love Letter to You 4.
