Filthy Friends is an indie supergroup co-founded by Corin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney fame and Peter Buck, guitarist for R.E.M.. The two met through Tucker’s husband Lance Bangs who has known Buck since Bangs was 19 at the University of Georgia.

Along with songwriters Tucker and Buck are guitarist Kurt Bloch (leader of Fastbacks), Bill Reiflin, a drummer who took over with R.E.M. after Bill Berry retired in 1997 and who currently works with prog-rock legends King Crimson and Scott McCaughey, co-founder and bassist for Young Fresh Fellows.
