Foxworth Hall is the Los Angeles based alt folk trio comprised of C.Todd Nielsen, Lawrence Katz, and Maria Korovilas. The group formed in 2014 when Katz, long time member and guitarist for The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, was looking for a new musical outlet that combined his love for singer/songwriter style writing and epic sound production.
After writing the demos for what would become the band’s debut EP, Katz enlisted singer and producer C.Todd Nielsen to help him carry out his vision. The two quickly began recording and producing the tracks, with Nielsen now taking on the role as lead singer. As the arrangements began to take shape, the duo still wanted a bigger sound, more vocals, something extra. The missing link would be Katz’s girlfriend, LA based designer Maria Korovilas, owner and creator of the up and coming fashion line bearing her last name.
During a late night visit to the studio, Katz and Nielsen convinced Korovilas to take a turn in the vocal booth on the chorus of the EP’s second track, Roamin' Holiday. The sonic chemistry was immediate, and thus the sound of Foxworth Hall was born.
