Artist

Alexander “Sandy” Wilson (1924-2014) was a composer, lyricist, and playwright who enjoyed his greatest hit while still in his 20s. The Boy Friend was a musical set in the 1920s with songs written in the style of the time. The show ran for more than five years in London’s West End and more than a year on Broadway. Despite creating several other shows (including a sequel to The Boy Friend entitled Divorce Me, Darling!), he never came close to the success of his early work.
