Ellise Gitas, known as Ellise, hails from Danville California in the Bay Area, before moving to Los Angeles.

She is a pop singer who began her rise to fame in 2016 after she competed in the iHeartRadio rising star competition, to open the annual music festival.

Shewent on to participated in Uproxx’s uncharted music series, and publish covers, gaining her attention. Throughout 2016, she released several singles, leading towards the release of an extended play in 2017, however this was later scrapped.

In 2018, she changed her style, and started releasing singles, such as “Love Made Me Do It” and “Pinky Promise”, in a darker take on pop, with hard hitting bass lines and vulnerable lyrics. In October of that year, she released her debut extended play, “Can You Keep A Secret?”, a four track long Halloween project themed around horror movies and the traumas of a toxic relationship. It included hit track “911“, which then went on to become her most popular song.

Ellise began 2019 with sultry single “Keep It To Myself”, before beginning to record her debut album, and releasing her sophomore extended play October that year. This was “Under My Bed”, another four track Halloween EP, this time themed around heaven and hell, artfully turning pain into beauty.

Throughout 2020, she went on hiatus, as she recorded her debut album. The first single from it, “Bubblegum Brain”, a bright pop song with contrastingly dark lyrics ,was released February the following year. This was followed shortly after by single “Feeling Something Bad…”, which demonstrated her talent for writing lyrics and creating engaging visuals alike. Preceding the album’s release, the last single, “Over Breakfast”, was released, a stripped back ballad about a relationship slowly changing and fading away. On May 14th, her debut studio album, “Chaotic”, was finally released, with 11 tracks, discussing the ups and downs of toxic relationships and mental health. It also featured a resurgence of “911”, before a fan favourite track, “Bruises”, weaved with vulnerable piano sections and chillingly dark beats throughout, received a music video, marking the end of the era.

Shortly after, she was featured on Iggy Azalea’s 3rd studio album, “The End of an Era”, on the title track, bringing her new fans as she geared up for her next Halloween project. On September 10th, Ellise released a live version of “Chaotic”, to commemorate her birthday and as a gift for fans, while she continued recording for her next project. This project, released October 15th, was revealed to be “Letting the Wolf In”, featuring 8 tracks, as Ellise experimented with new sounds, spinning a dark twist on fairy tales throughout the project’s lyrics. Later, on November 12th, Ellise released a remix of one of the songs on the project, titled “Soul Sucker Pt. 2”, featuring DeathbyRomy, and Mothica.
