PmBata

Artist

PmBata (real name Parker Makani Bata) is a Kansas City, Missouri native, artist, producer, and songwriter. Raised by a father who teaches jazz, PmBata has always had an ear for music. He began his musical learning at an extremely young age, taking piano lessons at just six years old. By the end of elementary school, not only could PmBata play the piano and the trumpet, but he also began to rap and produce. The rest was history.

After winning 3rd place in AKT Aktion’s “Eat My Beats” contest and 2nd place in Kato’s “Collab for the Crown,” PmBata began to garner media attention. His songs “Someone Save Me,” “Problems,” and “Nobody Came to My Party” were even featured on 2 million subscriber YouTube channel Promoting Sounds. His wordplay paired with his hard-hitting tracks are only two of many reasons the game-changing rapper is ahead of his time. When asked, he passionately describes his sound as one thing: original.

“I always try to make my sounds and production sound different than every other song out there, even if I’m drawing inspiration from other artists. I switch between melodies and actual rap at a consistent rate in all my songs.”

Garnering hundreds of thousands of streams across multiple platforms and a dedicated fanbase, PmBata has signed with managers Kevin Seals and DeAndre Wiseman of Seven Entertainments. He is currently working with 5x Grammy award-winning producer and songwriter, Brian Kennedy, whose musical catalogue includes collaborations with Lady Gaga, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Rascal Flatts, and Kelly Clarkson, to name a few.

“Things that I’ve experienced in real life inspired what I write about, but I would say my SOUND is influenced by a number of other genres and artists. I grew up listening to and inspired by the jazz greats and performing jazz music at the historical Kansas City 18th and Vine Jazz District’s Gem Theater. Then, I moved on to listening to artists like Mac Miller, Chance the Rapper, Childish Gambino, and Logic.”

Music is meant to leave a lasting impact. PmBata never loses sight of that. With major accomplishments under his belt thus far at the beginning of his career, the young star is heading towards a path to becoming one of hip-hop’s most influential artists.
