Lolo Zouaï

Artist

Singer, songwriter, and producer, Lolo Zouaï (“zoo-eye”) describes her songs as “bittersweet bangers,” combining atmospheric electronics, smoky R&B, and elements of hip-hop on her stylish, intimate songs.

Born in Paris to a French mother and Algerian father, Zouaï moved to the Sunset District of San Francisco when she was 3 months old after her parents won the Visa lottery. She grew up on a mix of Bay Area Hip-Hop, classic French music, and Algerian Rai music. As a child, she took piano lessons and sang at her French elementary school. After graduating high school, she spent a semester at Belmont University in Nashville before relocating to New York with her mother.

Following some false starts with collaborations and recordings, Lolo connected with New York producer Stelios Phili to create her viral hit with 2017’s “High Highs to Low Lows.” That same year, she co-wrote a song for H.E.R.’s eponymous debut, a record that went on to win the Grammy for Best R&B Album.

In the summer of 2018, while independently releasing a series of singles including “Blue,” “Desert Rose,” and “Brooklyn Love,” Lolo performed sold out headlines in Toronto, New York, LA, Paris, and London. That October, she toured in support of Alina Baraz before ending the year with another sold out headline tour in Europe.

In 2019, Lolo partnered with RCA Records and Because Music to release her debut album High Highs to Low Lows on April 19th. A week after the album’s release, Lolo set out on a 22-city North American headline tour, followed by a summer full of festival shows across the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia and a string of appearances at New York and Paris Fashion week. A month later, Lolo set out on the 17-city European leg of the High Highs to Low Lows tour.

Since April, Lolo has sold out headline shows across 14 different countries and appeared in global campaigns for Tommy Jeans, COACH, and Nike. Her debut album has amassed over 60 million streams worldwide, and she will be supporting Dua Lipa on her upcoming arena tour starting January, 2021.
