Born to British-Jamaican parents in London, raised in New York and Toronto, Toronto now being home Zolo started out in music at a young age. He grew up listening and being influenced by the music his parents would play from Disco, Reggae to R&B. Inspired by the works of artists like MGMT, Coldplay, Kid Cudi, Kanye West and Vybz Kartel. Zolo began exploring his talents and released his first mixtape in 2012.

In 2013, he released his debut EP “Lost” which included the hit single “Why Don’t You Love Me”. The song peaked at #46 on the Canadian CHR charts and paved the way for his first Canadian tour. He performed in Vancouver, Edmonton, and the Energy 103.5 Halifax Summer Rush concert opening for the likes of Far East Movement and Ludacris. Named by the Canadian Urban Music Conference 2013 as “One To Watch”, Zolo was invited to play at the halftime show for the Toronto Argonauts football pre-season opener that year. His rise in popularity led to collaborations with DJs from around the world including DJ LBR (Paris), Dance Floor Junkies (Chicago), Young Wolf Hatchlings (Toronto), and Futuristic Polar Bears (UK).

In mid-november 2016 when he dropped the project he had 55 monthly listeners, and 300 plays on Spotify for his lead single “Need Somebody”. In under two months his numbers shot up to over 96k monthly Spotify listeners and 170k plays on the lead single with influential social media personalities requesting to use his music in their videos. One of the videos received 2.7 million views in two days with mountains of fans requesting to know the artist behind the music in the video. His music is a channel through which he promotes positive energy to those around him. At the foothill of his capabilities, Zolo’s music is captivating and unstoppable. He lives by the mantra “Everything You’ve Ever Wanted Is On The Other Side Of Fear (OSOF)”.
