DPR IAN

Artist

Christian Yu, known under the stage names DPR IAN and Rome, is a Korean-Australian singer, songwriter, rapper, director, and composer in Dream Perfect Regime (DPR).

Yu started out as a K-pop idol called Rome, being the leader, main rapper, and dancer of the boy group C-Clown, which was formed in 2012 by Yedang Entertainment. The group disbanded in 2015, and Yu later revealed that his experience in the K-pop industry had been pretty traumatic. From the agency’s treatment to his fear of exposing his bipolar disorder and need of creative freedom.

That’s why he created Dream Perfect Regime and made his solo debut as DPR IAN with the release of his critically acclaimed 2021 album Moodswings in This Order, a cathartic record that dealt with themes of mental health, self-acceptance, and personal struggles. The album spawned the successful single “No Blueberries”, featuring fellow DPR member DPR LIVE and Korean rapper CL.

In 2022, Yu released the follow-up album Moodswings In To Order before embarking on an expansive world tour with the rest of the DPR team.

On August 4, 2023, Yu dropped “Peanut Butter & Tears,” the first single of his new EP Dear Insanity…. This song was followed by “So I Danced” in September and the title track “Don’t Go Insane” in October.
