With Knives was a rock band from NYC, featuring Joe Trohman (Fall Out Boy, The Damned Things) on guitar and lead vocals, and Josh Newton (Everytime I Die, Shiner, The Damned Things, etc) on bass.
The band formulated through Trohman’s interest in Newton’s sound cloud demos, with the latter offering to turn it into a real project. Together, they released their debut ‘Schadenfreude,’ a 6 track EP featuring Rob Smith as the studio drummer, Cory White engineering, and Paul Malinowski as producer. The EP was released through Trohman and Newton’s D.I.Y. label, Son of Man Records, on April 17th, 2012. Few shows were played in local venues around New York City and the East Coast of the U.S.
Newton was also Trohman’s guitar technician for Fall Out Boy.
In a tumblr post, Trohman stated the band would never break up, however, in a more recent interview, Trohman has since stated that he is no longer working on or part of With Knives.
