Artist

Greg “Lou Anthony” Suggs (born March 14, 1995) is an American hip-hop and R&B artist/songwriter from Philadelphia, Pa. Lou earned himself the spotlight after the release of his 2016 single “All My Life received applause from rap legends Black Thought and Cam'Ron. Later on, in December of 2016, Lou got his chance to rap in front of Cam'Ron and his entourage backstage at the Killa Season 2 Tour where he impressed the Dipset Orginal. Lou graduated from Gwynedd Mercy University with a BA in Communication in 2017.

With Philly being much more of a hardcore street rap scene the past couple of decades, Lou Anthony had to find his place in it – which was to stand out. Lou prides himself on revolutionizing the Philly sound with originality, consciousness, and authenticity. When he first picked up the pen and pad as a fourth grader back in 2004, Lou’s work reflected the violent, crime-heavy, sex-crazy world he was exposed to so early on. He wrote violent lyrics, often inspired by his love for 50 Cent and Philly underground legends Reed Dollaz and Meek Mill. When Lou reached high school, West Philadelphia Catholic High, he changed the way he wrote forever. In an interview with Street Art Caviar, Lou said, “I just wasn’t doing that. I wasn’t doing the things I said I was doing in those raps; shooting at people, having sex, playing with guns. Plus it was enough of that [violence] going on at that time anyway. I had rap about something different; something real to me.”

Since 2012, Lou Anthony has released ten studio projects – all mixed and mastered by Lou himself. His freestyle song to Madeintyo’s “Uber Everywhere” reached over one million streams on the popular music streaming program SoundCloud. “It changed my life,” said Lou. “That was the moment that told me: ‘Yo, people are actually listening now.”

Lou Anthony credits his biggest musical influences as 2Pac, J. Cole, Tory Lanez, and Joey Bada$$ along with soulmen like Charlie Wilson and Luther Vandross.
