Russian DJ and producer, Alpha 9 is the progressive trance moniker of Arty (Artem Stolyarov).

Over the years, musicians tend to listen to and create music as diverse as possible to help their creativity flow. This happens specially in the EDM scene, as artists tend to have more freedom to explore their skills, but it also tends to draw away some of the musician’s fanbase. With Alpha 9, Artem did an effort to keep both himself and his fans satisfied, starting with the release of “The Night Is Ours” and an open letter:

I remember myself as a 17 year old kid, running back home from university classes every day, absolutely blinded by just the idea of making music. No pressure from managers, labels or promoters, just pure passion. For the first time in a long time I feel like that kid again and I don’t feel this pressure anymore. […] although Alpha 9 is still me, it’s a totally separate project from Arty, focused on totally different music. I’m taking Arty music further towards the dance scene, while Alpha 9 will be a progressive/trance oriented project, this applies to branding, releases and live sets.

Since then, he has remixed for renowned artists such as Axwell /\ Ingrosso and Above & Beyond under Alpha 9, while making hit after hit as Arty, with tracks like “Idea Of You” and “Supposed To Be.”
