Using his environment as a motivator; surrounded by family and friends who’s practices were of criminal activity. Gaining confidence at family gatherings and among neighborhood peers, L.Mont discovered his talent. Growing up, L.Mont was introduced to materialistic illusions of criminal activity and in the blink of an eye he was taking by the street life. In 2004, L.Mont was arrested by Jefferson Parish Sheriff Office, for an allegedly second degree murder charge. Later, the charges were reduced to a man-slaughter conviction in which L.Mont was sentenced to nine years in the Deportment of Corrections (served eight years and two months). L.Mont used this time incarcerated to rehabilitate his self, by achieving his G.E.D and also participating in a number of programs to better his way of perceiving life. Reading business books and writing lyrics from his position allowed L.Mont to strengthen his talent. In 2010, while incarcerated L.Mont received the heartbreaking news of his older brother who was a victim of a homicide. Followed by 2011’s news of his beloved mother’s passing away.
