Artist

Yoo Jae-ha (1962-1987) was a South Korean pop singer and songwriter whose musical education featured equal parts rock, jazz, and classical training.

After an early apprenticeship as a musician in the band The Great Birth, he released his only album, Because I Love You, in 1987. The album was a failure at the time of his release, but a few months afterwards he was killed in a car accident caused by a drunken friend at the wheel. Because I Love You is now one of the best-selling albums in Korean history, and has often been cited as influential in the development of Korean pop music.
