In 1991, Andy Chase placed an ad looking for a fellow multi-instrumentalist which was answered by Adam Schlesinger. Three years later, they met a native of Paris in NYC looking to study English, Dominique Durand. Despite her never having sung with a group before, Chase and Schlesinger convinced Durand to sing on some demos for them. Ivy was formed shortly thereafter. In the same year, 1994, they were signed to a label, released a single, “Get Enough”, an EP, Lately and an album, Realistic. Over the years, they have continued to put out albums (the latest in 2011). Schlesinger has also been a part of Fountains of Wayne. Chase has worked as producer and writer for a number of other artists and worked with his other band Brookville. Chase and Durand have also put out an album together, 2004’s This Is Where We Live with Michael Hampton, as well as producing three children.
