Ama Serwah Genfi, known professionally as Amaarae is a Ghanaian singer and songwriter born in New York with a distinctive music style due to her ethereally captivating voice that brings life to her fusion mix of afro-punk, R&B, alternative and Alte sound.
Her debut album “Passionfruit Summers” carried the R&B single “Fluid” that kickstarted her career publicly. Not only is she recognized for her inclusivity of gender and race in her music, she is also recognized for her contemporary fashion sense, and blond buzz, even getting featured in Vogue’s Magazine in 2018 for the look.
Her single “Sad Girlz Luv Money” with Moliy, that later introduced a feature with Kali Uchis topped charts internationally in 2021 and brought about even more recognition to her sound and artistic ability.
