Borussia

Artist

Borussia, also known as Agent B, l’Agent, Boruru or Roro, lives « Rue Ramey » in Paris (where the Ed Banger Records HQ are located).

His only tool for making music is Ableton Live, and a few billion samples. Last year, he made a software-based synthesizer from only DJ Q-Bert scratch vinyls: he called it the Q synth and now uses it in most of his tracks. He’s now planning to build the same software with Teddy Riley vinyls.

He’s not really interested in anything that’s « hardware». Yet he’s very happy when a synthesizer is put into his hands or sampling vinyls.
He’ll probably get a drum machine or a vocoder anytime soon, but it will not go any further.

He’s a video game, horror film and romantic comedie fan. He actually made a video game with his brother: Dennis & The Dead in which they play Dennis Rodman against a zombie invasion during the 1996-1997 NBA season. He also wrote a movie called « L’Amour En Pièce Jointe » (Love Attached) and thinks Bong Joon Ho is the greatest moviemaker of our time. He likes digging club music (he hosts a show on Rinse France), playing it, and producing it. Yet he doesn’t really listen too much daily.

The record he has played the most this year is Soichi Terada’s “Sounds from the far east” compilation on Rush Hour, and he likes, among many others, the latest Island’s EP, as well as Mount Bank’s, and Docteur Satan’s (aka Crackboy). He watches music videos on TV and is fascinated by pop music. He can go from Soundcloud’s obscure sub-genres to Taylor Swift and NRJ Hits (French pop music TV channel), and is firmly convinced that one’s iTunes Top 25 most listened tracks says a lot about them.
