Delano Morgan, aka Lano the Genius, was gifted to the Bronx, the birthplace of hip hop, on April 3rd, 1996. He grew up living and breathing music, expressing himself through dancing, singing, and playing drums in his local church. Lano’s love for music grew more as he began to receive opportunities to do what he loved on stage. It wasn’t long after that his whole agenda shifted.

During his adolescent years, Lano would jokingly freestyle at parties and band rehearsals (as he was a natural at entertaining a crowd). Little did he know that every moment he spent doing these freestyles sharpened his ability as a lyricist and MC. During the Fall of 2016, Lano had the opportunity to sit in with hip hop artist Brandon Gallimore while Brandon was recording at The Lab 2.0 in New Rochelle, NY. The environment sparked all kinds of inspiration for Lano, who came out motivated to give lyric writing a real chance.

A couple months and a few successful impromptu freestyle videos later, Lano had gathered enough social attention and encouragement to hit up producer/engineer KayLivMusic about getting studio time at The Lab 2.0. From that first session, the dream of Big Bank Family (which was the name Lano and his crew proclaimed themselves as in the midst of Lano’s growing season as a freestyle rapper) becoming a music group started to turn into reality.

On August 31st, 2017, Lano the Genius released his Genesis of a Genius mixtape online, which received high acclaim from listeners all around. Less than a month later, BFF Music Group LLC with partners Caleb Lewis, aka KayLivMusic, and Dornell Henriques, aka Nellz the Deacon. With his whole career ahead of him, Lano the Genius has been on the move ever since!
