Malte Ebert is a singer/songwriter from Denmark formerly known as Gulddreng. Gulddreng was an alter ego character more or less in disguise who became the biggest streaming sensation in Denmark in less than two years.

As Gulddreng, Malte Ebert was signed to Universal Music Denmark in May 2016 and changed the traditional way of releasing singles permanently. By December 2016, he had released seven singles which all went #1 surpassing 50 million streams in Denmark only, and by the end of 2017, he surpassed 140 million streams and had over 330,000 fans on his social media.

In February 2018 Gulddreng terminated his career in front of 15,000 fans in a sold-out arena in Copenhagen.

“Rather Be” became the debut single from Malte Ebert since he parted with his alter ego – and the beginning of a new era on the global stage.
