Raqhid Jevon Render (March 16, 1998—May 13, 2022), known most notably by his stage name Lil Keed, was an American rapper from Forest Park, Georgia; however, he later moved to Atlanta Georgia. Lil Keed is also the older brother of popular Atlanta rapper, Lil Gotit.

In 2018, Keed released four mixtapes that preview the trap-rap style of rapping Lil Keed is most famously known for. Releasing Trapped on Cleveland and Slime Avenue, Keed later gained attention from Young Thug and was signed to Thug’s Young Stoner Life label with a partnership to 300 Entertainment.

Through his deal with YSL and 300, Keed released two more projects in 2018, Trapped on Cleveland 2 and Keed Talk to ‘Em — these projects were the initial beginning of Keed’s fanbase.

In 2019, Lil Keed released his debut studio album, Long Live Mexico which was supported by YNW Melly, Lil Uzi Vert and Gunna. In 2020, Keed released the third installment of Trapped on Cleveland, Trapped on Cleveland 3 which included notable features such as Lil Baby and Travis Scott. Months after the album’s release, Keed released a deluxe edition which included appearances from Chris Brown and O.T. Genasis.

On May 14, 2022, via Instagram, Lil Keed’s brother Lil Gotit announced Keed’s death. He spoke about the situation in the post:

Prior to his untimely death, Lil Keed was working on Keed Talk To ‘Em 2 and had made appearances on Young Stoner Life’s 2021 compilation album, Slime Language 2.
