Sleepy Brown

Artist

As a founding member of the legendary Dungeon Family, one-third of the production crew Organized Noize (who defined the sound of early Southern Hip-Hop), and one of Hip-Hop’s first go-to hook singers, Patrick “Sleepy” Brown is one of the greatest pioneers of Southern Hip-Hop.

As a singer, Sleepy Brown he is best known for his frequent collaborations with Dungeon Family’s most successful artists: OutKast. Organized Noize produced the entirety of their classic debut album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik and a large amount of both their second album ATLiens and their third album Aquemini.

Sleepy Brown, as both a singer and producer, was also instrumental to the careers of Dungeon Family’s other artists, including Goodie Mob, CeeLo Green and Killer Mike. He has also produced and sung on tracks for several artists outside of the family, including TLC, Ludacris, Beyonce, Big K.R.I.T. and Bleachers.

While Sleepy Brown has had little commercial success as a solo artist, his sophomore album Mr. Brown was well, received critically and is regarded highly by Dungeon Family fans. Brown is currently signed to ex-Outkast member Big Boi’s label Imprint Purple Ribbon All Stars.
