The indie-pop band AJR—three brothers born and raised in New York City—achieved a startlingly quick level of success with 2013 track “I’m Ready", a buoyant electro-pop smash that was featured in the trailer for Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck and became certified US Platinum in 2015.

Adam Met (bass/vocals), is the oldest brother, a Columbia University graduate. Ryan Met (ukulele/piano/vocals), a bespectacled ‘94 kid is the band’s main songwriter, also having co-written Andy Grammer hits “Back Home” and the certified gold “Good To Be Alive”. Jack Met (vocals/guitar), is the lead vocalist who splits time between the band and attending Columbia.

AJR began in 2005, busking on the streets and in the parks of New York. Raised on vinyls from the 50s and 60s, AJR was initially inspired by the likes of The Beach Boys and Frankie Valli, but the original sound they’ve now created resembles a modern mix of those classic sounds, with flavors of Imagine Dragons, fun., and hip-hop production elements pointing towards Kanye West.

Their official debut album Living Room was released in early 2015, featuring tracks from previous EPs I’m Ready and Infinity, all recorded, produced and written in their parent’s living room (hence the name).

Following this, the band released another EP What Everyone’s Thinking featuring hit singles “Weak”. This EP was then incorporated into their sophomore album, The Click., which released on June 9th, 2017.

In 2018, amongst their highly successful Click Tour, single “Pretender” was dropped, featured on Steve Aoki’s album Neon Future III.. AJR also followed up with The Click (Deluxe Edition) later that same year, adding 4 tracks to the original tracklist, such as the single “Burn the House Down”, described as a politically-charged song, and others.

The release of “100 Bad Days” back in January 2019 hinted at a new album for AJR, with the following single “Birthday Party” announcing Neotheater, released on April 26, 2019. The album peaked at #8 on the Billboard 200 and #6 on the US iTunes albums chart.

In February of 2020, “Bang!” as a single, peaking at 1st on Billboard’s “Rock Digital Song Sales and 13th on the US iTunes singles chart. “Bang!” remained on the Billboard Hot 100 for 35 weeks, peaking at #8 on January 23, 2021.

AJR’s fourth album, OK ORCHESTRA was released on March 26, 2021. The album was preceded by a slew of singles: “Bang!,” “Bummerland,” “My Play,” and “Way Less Sad.”. The album also featured a new era, the brothers depicting themselves as ceramic characters, as opposed to the ragdoll characters they were in their previous 2019 album Neotheater.

Since the release of OK ORCHESTRA, AJR has collaborated with Weezer to release a remix to “All My Favorite Songs” and with Daisy the Great for “Record Player”.
