Ethan P. Flynn

Artist

Dropping out of Guildhall aged 18, Ethan began immersing himself in the fringes of London’s music communities, collaborating with acts such as David Byrne, FKA twigs, Jeshi, Jockstrap, Vegyn, slowthai, Celeste, and Black Country, New Road

FKA twigs led Flynn to Los Angeles, where he co-wrote several songs on her 2019 album Magdalene, which was released by the Young Turks label. Not long afterward, he joined the Young Turks roster and made his official debut with “Everybody’s Dying To Meet You”, a song he’d written in L.A. while working on FKA twigs' album.

Over the years, Flynn had developed an aggressive work ethic and was known for recording nearly a song a day, but chooses to sit on them due to deep-seated insecurity. Sifting through his years of unreleased material, he compiled a representative ten-song set that Young Turks released in September 2020 as B-Sides & Rarities, Vol. 1.

I’ve had difficulty thinking my music deserves to be heard. This year alone [2020] I’ve made, like, a hundred songs. It’s something I do every day. I’m always making an album. But when one finally comes out, I just hope it’s worthy of being put out.
