Mandisa

Mandisa (October 2, 1976 – April 18, 2024) was an American contemporary Christian artist, who first gained notoriety as a contestant on the fifth season of American Idol in 2006.
On July 31, 2007, she released her debut album, True Beauty. The album became her first to be nominated for a Grammy Award for “Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album” at the 2007 Grammy Awards. She went on to release five more full length studio albums: It’s Christmas (2008), Freedom (2009), What If We Were Real (2011), Overcomer (2013) and Out of the Dark (2017).
On April 18, 2024, Mandisa died at the age of 47 with the cause of death currently unknown.
