J the Producer

Gerren J. Shider, known professionally as “J the Producer,” is an American R&B singer, songwriter, and producer from Round Rock, Texas. J’s trademark is his versatile voice, jumping smoothly between falsetto, crooning, auto-tune trills, and stylized background effects – often in a single hook.
His debut album, Ties N Fringes, reflected his beliefs in the Black Hebrew Israelite movement. He has said he was part of the Israel United in Christ (IUIC) “cult” before becoming saved as a follower of Jesus. In 2018, he released the single “Them Boyz Lyin” to accompany a documentary exposing the “destructive” movement – then put out a new album, A.D.: After Deception, to declare his exit from the Hebrew Israelites and share his newfound faith in Christ.
J made several feature appearances on Hazakim’s 2019 album Origins.
