Artist and songwriter Zikai is already well known in the industry. She writes with artists such as Zara Larsson, Tayla Parx, Yellow Claw, and Grammy winning producers such as GRADES (H.E.R, Dua Lipa), Fwdslxsh (6BLACK), Levis Lennox (Zayn, Liam Payne). Earlier this year she released her debut single Mountain Peak and on the Swedish Grammys 2019 she performed the song live. The earlier mentioned Grammy-winning GRADES did a remix on Mountain Peak which was released at the end of March – at the same time he also mentioned Zikai as one of his new favorite artists. Her second single Beach Day was released on the 10th of May. Both Mountain Peak and Beach day was added to Swedish radio station P3s B-rotation, which is the second highest level. The editorial staff at P3 also appointed Zikai ‘Artist of the future’ in June.

Zikai has had an eventful spring. In addition to Swedish Grammy, she’s performed live at Guldbaggens afterparty (equivalent to the Swedish Oscars), the Pre-Party for Åre Sessions, the Pre-Party for Way Out West, the opening night at Lydmar Music and more.

It was when Zikai got in contact with producer Mack Beats that she started to write music, at this time for other artists. For example, she featured on Silvana Imam, Cherrie and Michel Dida songs. After a time, the texts and music started to relate more to her own experiences and a sound that felt just like Zikai started to grow. She describes it as an urban sound with organic influences.
