Salvarez

Artist

Bay Area rapper Salvarez debuted in 2016 with catchy 80s-themed originals Funk Nation and Sunshine, showcasing his ability to blend music genres. Salvarez came of age in the “Summer 2016” Soundcloud Rap era, which included rockstars Lil Uzi Vert, Rihanna, Drake, Playboi Carti, and Bad Bunny. Today, Salvarez and his music are an experience derived from early Gen-Z pop culture and LatinX Urbano artists, with music written in Spanish and English.

Salvarez was born in San Francisco, California in 1997 to a working-class Mexican immigrant family. Growing up, Salvarez adopted the first-gen student narrative – to elevate his family’s social status by attending college and obtaining a well-paid career. After graduating high school in San Francisco, Salvarez attended St. Olaf College in Minnesota by Fall 2015.

At St. Olaf College, Salvarez quickly built his musical presence by building a community on campus with his radio show “Smack Radio” and YouTube channel “Smack TV.” While producing events like “Urban Sound” and playing live shows during college, Salvarez collaborated with Kiara and Leander, as well as industry hits: Lizzo, Vic Mensa, 3OH!3, and Sage The Gemini. Salvarez graduated St. Olaf College in 2019. Since then, Salvarez has only sharpened his musical palette.

In 2022, Salvarez is gearing up to launch his first Spanish/English EP. This will include a mini tour of Minneapolis, Chicago, and San Francisco.
