SuperM is a seven member K-Pop super-group formed in partnership with South Korean label SM Entertainment and American label Capitol Records, distributed by Caroline Distribution.

According to SuperM’s official website, “M” stands for matrix and master, signifying the “Super” synergy of the members, TAEMIN of SHINee, Baekhyun and Kai of EXO, Taeyong and Mark of NCT 127, and Ten and Lucas of WayV, in their rap, vocal, and dance abilities.

The group was first revealed during the Capitol Congress conference in Los Angeles, California on August 7th, 2019 by Capitol Music Group’s Chairman and CEO Steve Barnett with SM founder Lee Soo-man, described as “The Avengers of K-Pop.”

They debuted on October 4th, 2019 with their self-titled EP. They announced their first full-length album Super One would be released on September 25th, 2020.

With the success of their debut self-titled EP, SuperM became the first Korean act to make their chart debut at #1 on the Billboard 200.

Ahead of their debut, the group debuted on the Billboard Social 50 chart at #2 in the week of September 24th, 2019, becoming the highest debut on the chart since BTS. The group also debuted on the Artist 100 chart at #93 and the Emerging Artists chart at #6.
