Okolo is the hyperpop alter-ego of Australian artist Perto. Started in late 2019, Perto used this account as a way to experiment with vocals in his music—before this point he was solely a producer and had never released anything featuring his own voice.
The first track uploaded to the Okolo SoundCloud account was a cover of Ecco2K’s “Peroxide” titled “at the bus stop”, released on October 16, 2019.
Okolo would remain active, releasing music frequently until its eventual abandonment in October 2021 after the release of the final song, “that’s death” featuring lleckni.
