When Texas blues guitarist Smokin' Joe Kubek formed his first band in the late 80s, already Lousiana born Bnois King was part of it as lead singer and rhythm guitarist. While Joe wrote most of their original music, Bnois penned the lyrics. Since 1991 they released 18 albums, at first billed as “The Smokin' Joe Kubek Band featuring Bnois King” and since 1997 as “Smokin' Joe Kubek & Bnois King”. The duo came to an end with Joe’s death in 2015.
