Chris Ray’s Music

Artist

Chris Ray, born Christopher Ray Robinson on December 9, 1996 is an up-and-coming artist from Jackson, Mississippi. He first started writing poems, short stories in elementary and even attempted a novel. He eventually became infatuated with music when hearing Eminem’s “Infinite” from Eminem’s 1996 album of the same name in 8th grade.
By making evident his inspirations, Chris Ray often executes his delivery in double and even triple-time with figurative devices akin to algorithms, making sure to be wary of cadence, syllable structure and personal anecdotes. While he has an unorthodox sense of attention to the length of his bars within his verses, one may only be lead to believe this is either due to his novice experience or his infatuation with freestyle rappers. Within his music, much inspiration can be seen from his favorite rapper, Eminem along with others such as Kendrick Lamar, King Los, Childish Gambino, J. Cole, Andre 3000, Rakim and even Tyler, The Creator with his peculiar delivery at times.
