Artist

Sarah Blackwood is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Burlington, Ontario, Canada. She is best known for her involvement with indie folk-pop band Walk Off the Earth, as well as her previous psychobilly group, The Creepshow.

When Sarah’s sister, Jen “Hellcat” Blackwood, became pregnant in 2007 and had to temporarily step out of her band, The Creepshow, Sarah took on the name “Sarah Sin” and stepped in as guitarist/vocalist. What was intended to be a temporary substitution turned official when “Hellcat” felt unable to continue the touring life. In the following years, Sarah not only put out two albums with The Creepshow—2008’s Run For Your Life & 2010’s They All Fall Down—but four solo releases as well.

In January of 2012, she made a guest appearance on a cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” by fellow Burlington musical act Walk Off the Earth, a band with which she had been working for nearly a year on the side. The cover’s Youtube video became a viral success overnight, and shortly afterward Sarah left The Creepshow to make W.O.T.E. her primary project.

Since then, W.O.T.E. has released dozens of additional cover songs, toured the world many times over, won several awards, and released two studio albums—2013’s R.E.V.O. & 2015’s Sing It All Away.

Sarah is also in a relationship with W.O.T.E. member Gianni Luminati, and they have two children together.
