Beckett’s solo career started back in 2002 with the release of The Last Place You Look under the name of Remember Maine. After the disillusion of The Academy Is… in 2011, he began to release solo material under his own name. He released the Walk The Talk, Winds Will Change, and What Will Be EP’s in 2012 before the release of his debut solo album Genuine & Counterfeit in 2013.
