P-Trill

Artist

Hailing from the Bronx, New York, Paul Valentine is not the average MC. After noting that he’s studied the likes of Nas, J. Cole, Dave East, Wu-Tang Clan, Biggie, Meek Mill, Kendrick Lamar, etc. P-Trill is an intricate young lyricist who sports his sound with his debut single “Heaven & Hell (Freestyle)” and debut EP Trillest One, with trap-inflected beats and/or East Coast boom bap production, the latter being his personal favorite.

Working with one of his close friends, Yvng King, turned into the release of a collaborative mixtape titled V.Y.D.K. (short for Vibes You Don’t Know), with P-Trill showing an even more sensitive side of himself (“I Wanna Know, Pt. II (feat. Red),” “Diamond Girl,” “No Games”). He is also a member of the collective Tokyo Kings, which also consists of MCs Trapstar Jay, Lil Ray, K Drippy, Lil Papi, Dee Syrus, Dae Bandz and Ksubi Jay.

P-Trill released his studio debut, Chosen, on his birthday, which was heavy in old-school boom bap production. “Lost & Found” and “Perspective (Bonus)” shows P-Trill’s strength in introspection and storytelling.
