Night Lovell

Artist

Shermar Paul (born May 29, 1997), better known by his stage name Night Lovell, is a rapper and producer from Ottawa, Canada. His old producer alias is KLNV, standing for Killanov. He initially gained fame after his song “Dark Light” went viral. His rap style is known for his deep voice and usage of dark, bass-heavy and electronic beats.

Night Lovell’s name is made up of Lovell, his father’s middle name, and Night, which comes from fact that he only records at night and finds he is the most productive in the darkness and silence that the night time brings. In an interview with The FADER he said:

I just feel like it’s a more vulnerable time of the day. That’s when people’s darkest secrets come out. It’s just a really personal time, so I feel like when I make music at that time it kind of sounds different.

On December 21, 2014 he released his debut album named Concept Vague. Later on his second album Red Teenage Melody was released on June 13, 2016. In summer 2018 he revealed the name of his third album GOODNIGHT LOVELL, which was released on February 22nd, 2019.
