Artist

Oyikansola Sarah Aderibige (born June 14, 2002) is a Nigerian singer and model who performs under the stage name Ayra Starr, based in Benin, Nigeria.

From having smooth vocals to having an inspiring mother who encouraged her to pursue music, and having an obsession with artists such as Beyoncé and Rihanna, her journey to stardom began after she released a track titled “Damaged.” The track had caught the attention of the founder of Mavin Records, Don Jazzy via social media, which led to her signing.

On January 22, 2021, Ayra released her first EP titled Ayra Starr, which caught the eyes of many people, with tracks such as “Sare” and “Away.” A track that owed to her Yoruba accent and flowed smoothly with its combined Afro and R&B style.

Ayra, later on, released her first studio album on August 6, 2021, titled 19 & Dangerous, with her notable track been “Bloody Samaritan,” serving as the lead single. CKay and Fousheé served as the album’s special feature. The album’s concept predominantly reflects a young Ayra moving to adulthood, as the album’s title suggests, and a fearless Ayra inclined to forfeit everything to make it to stardom.
