Despite debuting as a voice actor, Saito was originally planning on becoming a novelist or a musician, but was inspired by Akira Ishida (石田 彰)’s role as コエムシ (Koemushi) in the animated adaptation of ぼくらの (Bokurano) (2007) to pursue voice acting when he was in high school.

In 2008, he signed with 81 Produce after their audition and started taking classes at their voice acting school alongside attending high school. One year later, he also won “Judges' Special Prize” at the 33rd National High School Comprehensive Cultural Festival (全国高等学校総合文化祭) in the recitation category, and finally made his debut in

He would later somewhat fulfill his childhood dream of becoming a musician when he debuted as a solo singer in 2017, with the single フィッシュストーリー (Fish Story), with label Sacra Music. However, it wasn’t until his third single, デート (Date), that he started to write and compose his own songs.
