bar italia is a London-based indie rock band formed in late 2019 by Italian-born Nina Cristante (vocals), Sam Fenton (guitar, vocals) and Jezmi Tarik (guitar, vocals). They took their name from the late-night cafe in Soho made famous by Pulp.

Prior to forming bar italia, Fenton and Fehmi were in a band called Double Virgo, and Cristante had a solo project called NINA.

From 2020 to 2022, nearly all of their music was released via Dean Blunt’s World Music label (Dean and Nina were in a long-term relationship). In March 2023, they signed with Matador.
