LMYK (エルエムワイケー) is a singer-songwriter born in Osaka, Japan to a German father and Japanese mother. She pursued a career in music while studying abroad in New York City, when Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis heard her sing and offered to produce music for her.
With producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis by her side, the singer-songwriter naturally blends her use of English and Japanese to create her own unique sound, and eventually debuted her first single Unity on November 6th, 2020; the song was part of the original soundtrack to the 2019 Chinese animated film 罗小黑战记大电影 (The Legend of Hei).
The year after, she released the song “0”, which was part of the soundtrack to the 2021 animated series ヴァニタスの手記 (The Case Study of Vanitas), based on the 2015 manga of the same name by Jun Mochizuki (望月淳). The song has both a Japanese and English version, and was released as a digital single, and a physical CD of the same name.
