Element X (NZ)

Artist

New Zealand band that was active in the early 2000s and had a local hit with ‘Nesian Girl’; some of its members later formed For Da Grind.

Bio from music.net.nz:

This seven piece band formed at the Music Audio Institute of New Zealand. They are compiled of European, Maori, Samoan and Tokalauen descent. This mixture is vital to the unity of our people and to show that through their music, harmony between all races can be obtained.

Element X have four vocalists and a three piece rhythm section, however they all sing and play a variety of instruments. They released our single ‘Nesian Girl’ and have been distributed by Kings Distribution and released on Warm Earth Records (Te Vaka Label).

It was the top selling single for many weeks from Kings Distribution and is still being played across the country on many stations. Niu FM played it on high rotation for weeks as well as playing ‘Pacifica’ and many ‘Summer in the Parks’ around Auckland.

Element X have a large following in Australia and Tahiti.
