Uncle and nephew, Quavo and Takeoff were two-thirds of the most iconic trio in hip-hop – Migos.

The duo was rumored to have split up with the third member of Migos, Offset. These rumours were confirmed on October 7, 2022 with the release of Quavo and Takeoff’s debut album as a duo, Only Built For Infinity Links.

Quavo spoke on his and Takeoff’s career as a duo on an interview with Big Bank & DJ Scream:

I just feel like we want to see our career as a duo, you know what I’m saying? Because, you know, we just came from a loyal family […] supposed to stick together. And sometimes, when shit don’t work out, it ain’t meant to be.

On November 1, 2022, 25 days after the release of their debut album, Takeoff was fatally shot in Houston at the age of 28.
