Shame are a post-punk, alternative rock band from South London, England. The group is comprised of schoolmates Charlie Steen (lead vocals), Charlie Forbes (drums), Eddie Green (guitar), Seán Coyle-Smith (guitar), and Josh Finerty (bass). Bands such as Eddy Current Suppression Ring and The Fall have been cited amongst their biggest influences.
The band formed in 2014, rehearsing in the Queen’s Head, their local pub, and gigs with bands like Slaves, and Fat White Family, led to an appearance at Pitchfork Music Festival in 2016. They released their debut single later in the year and signed with Dead Oceans the year after in 2017. Their debut album, Songs of Praise, was released on January 12, 2018.
