Death in June is a neofolk group (and later solo act) led by English folk musician Douglas Pearce, better known as Douglas P. The band was originally formed in Britain in 1981 as a trio (with Patrick Leagas (Sixth Comm) and Tony Wakeford (Sol Invictus, Current 93), but after the other members left in 1984 and 1985 to work on other projects, the group became the work of Douglas P. and various collaborators (John Balance of COIL, David Tibet of Current 93, Boyd Rice of NON, etc). Douglas P. has retired from touring, but still releases albums (such as late 2018’s ESSENCE!) to this day.
