B'z is a Japanese duo rock band formed in 1988, consisting with Vocalist & Lyricist Koshi Inaba (稻葉浩志) and Producer Tak Matsumoto (松本孝弘), currently signed to VERMILLION RECORDS under Being, Inc.

Originally they planned to name the band “A'z”, means A to Z, which means “Include everything from A to Z”. But A'z has been read as AIDS, and many other reasons beside this. After they discussed, they decided using “B'z” as the name of the band, because B is after A.

B'z released both their first single “Dakara Sono Te wo Hanashite (だからその手を離して)” and their first studio album B'z on September 21, 1988.

The 5th single Taiyou no Komachi Angel (太陽のKomachi Angel) released on June 13, 1990, it reached first place on the Oricon chart for the first time they have.

At present, the total record sales have exceeded 80 million, which is the highest record since the establishment of the Oricon chart in Japan, and the total global record sales have exceeded 100 million.

In 2007, they entered the “Hollywood’s RockWalk” Hall of Fame and became the only Asian musician to receive this honor. Awarded “Best selling album act in Japan” certified by Guinness World Records in 2008.
