Artist

Aaron Jeoffrey was a contemporary Christian music duo, made up of father, Jeoffrey Benward, and his son, Aaron, who recorded pop style songs during the 1990s. They had four studio albums and one compilation album.

Jeoffrey Benward was already involved in Christian music since the 1970s. In the early 1990s, Jeoffrey asked his teenage son what he wanted to do for a living, and Aaron replied that he wanted to follow his father’s path in music.

The father and son decided to begin recording together, and, though several labels had problems with the unusual pairing, Starsong picked them up. They went into the studio and started working on their self-titled debut album, which was released in 1994. The album, which featured guest vocals by DC Talk, produced several singles, including the CCM hits “I Go to the Rock”, and “He Is”, which lyrically traces the names and descriptions of God throughout the Bible.

The debut album was followed by After the Rain in 1996, Climb in 1997, and Timeless … For Every Generation in 1999.

During their career, Aaron Jeoffrey had fourteen Top 5 radio singles, nine of which made it to No. 1. They were twice nominated for a GMA Dove Award in the “Song of the Year” category for their classic, “He Is.”

“Our mission as Aaron Jeoffrey is not only to project our positive relationship as father and son, but most importantly, to present the person of Christ to everyone who sees us or listens to our music, to be a reflection of His character in our daily lives as well as in our ministry, to always keep in focus that Jesus died for people and people are most important to Him, to not only strive for excellence in our music but to touch hearts and lives at their deepest needs, to always exalt the Savior and give Him the glory because it all begins and ends with Him. When these elements are achieved, then our mission is accomplished.”
