Jannifer Paige (born Jennifer Scoggins, September 3, 1973, in Marietta, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia).
Her 1996 recording of a cover version of Aretha Franklin’s classic “Chain of Fools” with producer Andy Goldmark came to the attention of the German indie label Edel Records, whose president, Jonathan First, flew to Los Angeles and gave her a recording contract. Her first single, “Crush”, released in April, 1998 (followed as first track on her eponymous album in August of the same year) became a world-wide hit – and her only one. The song “Always You” peaked in the US-Dance-Charts on #6 in 1999.
