Blasted Mechanism

Blasted Mechanism (or simply Blasted) is a Portuguese experimental rock band formed in 1995 by Karkov and Vald'jiu. The band is known for their theatrical live shows that involve alien-themed costumes and inventive instruments.
The band’s current line-up is Riic Wolf (vocals, 2018-present), Vald'jiu (bambuleco, kalachakra, guitar, 1995-present), Guitshu (keyboards, vocals, 2008-present), Ary (bass, 1995-present) and Sync aka Fred Stone (drums, 2003-present).
Their first album Plasma (1999) lead them to perform all over the world, having received three nominations for the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Portuguese Act (2003, 2005 & 2007).
Since the band’s inception, their aural concept has progressed. They cross latitudes of various cultures, borrowing and developing sounds from both the traditional and the exotic. In addition, they have developed their own dialect, known as Karkovian, which is used in their lyrics.
