Melding the harmonic sensibilities of Jazz and hip Latin rhythms, Antônio Carlos Jobim contributed a vast repertoire in the form of Bossa Nova to modern music.
Combining impressionistic European tonality and exotic, syncopated Latin rhythms along with excellent dynamics in his playing, Antônio delved into the softer sensibilities of Jazz-influenced harmonies. His singing is delicate and graceful, complementing and emphasising the gentle sonics of his songs, perhaps reminiscent of Lou Reed and Leonard Cohen.
