Drakeo the Ruler (December 1, 1993 — December 19, 2021) was a rapper from Los Angeles, California. A chance meeting with YG’s brother led to a relationship with DJ Mustard that helped launch Drakeo’s career.
By 2018, Drakeo had dropped six mixtapes before having his career derailed by a murder case that left him detained for two years without a sentence. Finally, in 2020, all charges against Drakeo were dropped and he triumphantly returned to Los Angeles with the release of We Know the Truth. On February 24, 2021, Drakeo released his long-awaited collab with Drake, “Talk To Me.”
On December 18, 2021, Drakeo was stabbed at the Once Upon A Time In LA concert in Los Angeles, where he was scheduled to perform. He was pronounced dead on December 19, 2021.
